I purchased a smart pen (Echo by Livescribe) for my husband...but have been thinking that it might be an interesting tool to use with my clients. The Echo records your voice as well as your text or drawing, allowing you to share your work and show it in progress as you describe what you're drawing. I think it is very clever. The drawing doesn't allow for erasures or the addition of color; so it does look rather crude. Also, pens are not the best medium for sketching. However I think it might make the processd of designing a cake more personal for the client and hopefully, the technology will improve quickly. What do you think? Would you like to receive a "pencast" describing the cake I would create for you?
